The business case

What AutoCAD really costs a small business

For a 3-person engineering firm, AutoCAD at $2,095/seat/year is $6,285 every year — before support, training, or overhead. That money doesn't build equity. It evaporates. progeCAD changes the math.

AutoCAD · 3 seats · 5 years
$31,425
$2,095/seat/yr × 3 seats × 5 years. Subscription only — no equity, no ownership, no stopping the clock.
progeCAD — same 3 seats
progeCAD · 3 seats · one-time
$1,620
$540/seat × 3 seats. Total. Forever. No year 2 bill, no year 3 bill. Use it as long as you need it.
Your savings over 5 years
$29,805
That's payroll, equipment, marketing — reinvested in your business instead of Autodesk's subscription revenue.

Built for how small businesses work

No IT department required.

Enterprise CAD software assumes you have a sysadmin, a license server, and a cloud account. progeCAD assumes you have a computer and work to do.

No license server needed
The standard single-user license installs and activates directly on the workstation — no network license manager, no server to maintain, no IT infrastructure. Works out of the box.
Works offline — anywhere
Job site, home office, remote location — progeCAD works everywhere. After activation, it needs no internet connection. No VPN, no cloud sync, no connectivity dependency.
Move the license anytime
New computer? Upgrade your workstation? Move the license for free, any time. No transfer fees, no waiting on approval. Uninstall on the old machine, register on the new one.
US-based support team
Based in Portland, Oregon. You reach real people who know progeCAD — not a global support queue. iCARE plan holders get priority response and access to the progeSOFT developer portal.
Native DWG — share with anyone
Your files are standard DWG — the universal format. Share with clients, engineers, contractors, and consultants using any version of AutoCAD. No conversion, no compatibility questions.
NLM option for shared seats
Growing team with multiple CAD users who don't all work simultaneously? The NLM (Network License Manager) add-on lets a pool of seats float across your network — more efficient than per-seat subscriptions.

Common questions

CAD for small business — FAQ

The standard single-user license allows one installation on one computer at a time. Multiple employees can use the same license sequentially on the same machine, but not simultaneously on different machines. For concurrent multi-user access, the NLM (Network License Manager) add-on lets a pool of licenses float across your office network.
You can purchase additional single-user licenses at any time — each at the standard $540 one-time price. Volume discounts are available for larger orders. Contact our sales team for multi-seat pricing. There's no subscription tier to upgrade to and no lock-in pricing structure to navigate.
Yes. progeCAD saves standard DWG files — the same format as AutoCAD. Any version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, BricsCAD, or other DWG-compatible software will open your files without issue. You can also save to older DWG versions if a client is using an older version of AutoCAD.
Yes. progeCAD USA is based in Portland, Oregon and provides direct support. Standard support is available to all license holders. The iCARE plan (an optional annual add-on at $320/yr) upgrades you to priority support with ticket, email, and remote session options — plus access to the progeSOFT developer support portal.
