Building under construction — progeCAD MEP mechanical electrical plumbing design

progeCAD Professional

Professional MEP CAD software — HVAC, electrical & plumbing.

progeCAD is professional HVAC, electrical, and plumbing CAD software that runs every AutoCAD MEP workflow you already know — same commands, same DWG files, same shortcuts. One-time .

Electrical drafting

Full 2D drafting for electrical installations — power distribution, lighting layouts, alarm systems, and low-tension networks. Compatible with AutoCAD Electrical DWG files.

Piping & HVAC schematics

Draw water, gas, HVAC, ventilation, and chemical piping systems. Use standard P&ID symbols and generate isometric views. Full DIN/EN/ISO standard support.

Full 2D drafting & detailing

All MEP drawing tools — layers, dimensions, hatching, section views, and title blocks. Works with every DWG file from AutoCAD MEP without conversion or data loss.

22,000+ blocks & symbols

Large library of electrical, piping, and HVAC symbols included free. Drop in standard components and reuse across projects without building libraries from scratch.

AutoLISP, VBA & API

Automate repetitive MEP workflows. Existing AutoCAD scripts run as-is. Full AutoLISP, SDS, and IRX support — build custom tools or port existing ones directly.

Native DWG compatibility

Open, edit, and save DWG files from AutoCAD 2.5 through the latest version. Share drawings with consultants and contractors on AutoCAD with no conversion, no rework.

progeBILLD MEP

The MEP-specific application — intelligent components, parametric fittings, automatic BOM.

progeBILLD requires progeCAD Professional — sold separately for

progeBILLD extends progeCAD with DIN/EN/ISO-compliant symbol libraries, intelligent component insertion, and automatic bill of materials generation — across all three MEP disciplines.

What it covers
  • Electrical — lighting, power plant, alarm & low-tension installations
  • HVAC / Piping — elbows, T-parts, reducers, flanges, auto-fitted isometrics
  • Mechanical — standard fittings, profiles, fasteners (bolts, screws, nuts, pins)
  • Full DIN/EN/ISO symbol libraries across all modules
  • Intelligent inserting with automatic spec generation
  • BOM export to PDF, XLS, CSV — per drawing or project-wide
  • Manufacturer library integration
Important: what it is not
  • Not a 3D modeling or BIM tool
  • Not for load calculations, energy modeling, or system simulation
  • Not a replacement for Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, or full BIM workflows
  • All components are 2D — not 3D solid models

Frequently asked questions

Can progeBILLD MEP be used for MEP drawings?

progeBILLD MEP is the MEP-focused add-on for progeCAD Professional. It adds intelligent component libraries for Electrical, HVAC/Piping, and Mechanical work — symbols that insert with automatic specification generation and roll up into a BOM. The combined progeCAD + progeBILLD MEP package is professional HVAC, electrical, and plumbing CAD software — it reads and writes DWG files natively and supports the full 2D command set used in MEP workflows. One-time license versus AutoCAD MEP at $2,095/year.

What does progeBILLD MEP add on top of progeCAD?

progeBILLD adds three intelligent component libraries: Electrical for lighting, power, alarm and low-tension installations; HVAC/Piping for elbows, T-parts, reducers and flanges with auto-fitted isometrics; and Mechanical for standard fittings, profiles and fasteners. All three carry full DIN, EN, and ISO symbol libraries, insert with automatic specification generation, and roll up into a bill of materials you can export to PDF, XLS, or CSV per drawing or across a whole project. Modules are $1,150 each, or $2,300 for all three.

Is progeBILLD MEP a replacement for Revit MEP or AutoCAD MEP?

We would rather be straight with you: no, not for full BIM workflows. progeCAD with progeBILLD is a 2D MEP drafting and documentation tool. It is not a 3D modeling or BIM authoring environment, it does not do load calculations, energy modeling, or system simulation, and all progeBILLD components are 2D rather than 3D solid models. If your work is MEP coordination drawings, schematics, symbol-based layouts, and BOM output, it fits well and costs a fraction of the subscription alternatives. If you need clash detection in a federated 3D model or full parametric BIM authoring, it is not the right tool.

Do I need progeBILLD, or is progeCAD Professional enough on its own?

It depends on how much of your work is symbol-heavy and BOM-driven. progeCAD Professional alone gives you the full AutoCAD-compatible 2D drafting environment plus 22,000+ blocks and symbols, which is enough for many MEP coordination and layout drawings. progeBILLD earns its cost when you are repeatedly placing specified components and need automatic specification generation and bills of materials rather than manual counts. Both are perpetual licenses, so you can start with progeCAD and add progeBILLD later without losing anything.
